Is it time to trade Derrick Henry?

The Baltimore Ravens running back, Derrick Henry, has fumbled in each of his first three contests in 2025. He had a notable fumble against the Josh Allen-led Bills, which propelled their comeback to win the game. On Monday Night Football, a jab from Aidan Hutchinson on the football resulted in Henry fumbling. With that said, he has let down the Ravens against other Super Bowl contenders. Hence, a fascinating question arises: should the Ravens trade Henry?
I honestly believe they should trade Henry. If he has already fumbled a few times in a few weeks, I wholeheartedly believe he will fumble a few more times in the long remaining part of the season. It should also be noted that Henry is 31 years old. He likely has 2-3 more seasons at most. It’s time to receive compensation for him, so they can invest in a young player or two.
Let’s not forget that the Ravens have had success running the football with average to slightly above average RBs (such as J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram). This could also make it easier to move on from King Henry.
With that said, I’m going to lay out a few hypothetical trades.
Washington Commanders
Just as how Lamar Jackson opens up the running game for Henry, Jayden Daniels can make things smoother for Henry with his dual threat ability. The Commanders have also been aggressive with landing talent over the past couple of seasons, such as acquiring Marshon Lattimore and Deebo Samuel.
New England Patriots
Mike Vrabel was Henry’s head coach in Tennessee. The Patriots also have a fumble prone RB in Rhamondre Stevenson, but he has half the talent as King Henry. The Pats need more firepower if they want to upset their division foe, Buffalo.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos are 1-2 and Bo Nix is having a sophomore slump. They need more juice to rejuvenate their offense. The Broncos have J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey, but the Saints (under Sean Payton) have famously had a few quality RBs at once. Henry can be the thunder.
Henry could very well be a Hall of Fame RB, but he’s at the back-end of his career. A big change in his mindset could turn things around. So, a new home, could be the answer.
