Fantasy: It’s time to start Marcus Mariota in Week 4

Mariota can thrive in Week 4

By: Jake Rajala

Marcus Mariota was a Greek god at Oregon. Every fan of football knows he won the Heisman. He had a modest start to his pro career. After he went 3-9 as a rookie, he went 8-7, 9-6, and 7-6. He was a winner, even if he didn’t make the Pro Bowl. His TD to int ratio wasn’t sexy, however. He only threw 11 TDs and had 8 ints to go with it in 2019.

Before 2025, his last real shot came in 2019.

He was given another chance with the Atlanta Falcons in 2022. He didn’t thrive, unfortunately. He went 5-8 and looked slightly below average.

It’s 2025, and Mariota has gotten another shot. He won the lone showdown, and he’s in line for another shot. He threw a TD and ran for TD. Mariota scored 20 fantasy points.

PFF handed Mariota a grade of 89.9 for his debut. That’s quite a showcase!

I honestly believe that Kliff Kingsbury is the best QB mind that Mariota has played under. Kingsbury knows how to utilize dual-threat QBs better than anybody.

Mariota is also in an offense with an elite WR duo (Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel). Let’s not forget about Zach Ertz, as well.

It was reported that Daniels won’t be rushed back due to Marcus’s production so far. At least, we know he won’t play this upcoming week.

The former Titan is 31 years old. The door shouldn’t be shut on his ability to be successful again. We witnessed Geno Smith turn things around and look quite good.

There are also not many young QBs that are off the charts right now. J.J. McCarthy is hurt, Cam Ward isn’t popping out, Shedeur Sanders and Jaxson Dart haven’t played yet.
