Buy, Hold, Sell: Bijan Robinson

Bijan Robinson outlook

By: Jake Rajala

It wasn’t too long ago that former first round pick Bijan Robinson was pegged as a popular first round pick in dynasty. After all, Adam Schefter picked him first in a mock draft. With that said, a fascinating question surrounds him after five weeks. Should you buy, hold, or sell Bijan Robinson?

Robinson has recorded 24.4, 19.8, 16.1, and 28.10 pts in four games this season. He isn’t quite ready to be in the conversation as the best RB, alongside Jonathan Taylor, Saquon Barkley, and Derrick Henry. Only half of his games at this point in the season were over 20 pts.

With that said, a vital dynasty question surrounds him: should you buy, sell, or hold Robinson?

I would most certainly move him.

Robinson could be moved for a first round pick and more. It would be wise in my opinion to take this opportunity before he shows that he’s peaked. The Falcons offense is abysmal. They are 26th in points per game scored.

One could get a lot in return for Robinson. I would imagine that someone could get a first and a second in such a trade.

If you are going to hold him, I recommend holding for a few weeks at most.

PFSN has dubbed the Falcons OL as the fifth best OL in the league. If Robinson can’t have any 30 pt games or a few 25 pt games, I’m not thrilled to see how he would do with injuries on his OL.

The Falcons also don’t have a clear answer at QB. Defenses don’t respect the Falcons passing game, so teams load up the box to stop the run.

If you are able to acquire Robinson with a talented RB and a second, instead of using a first round pick, I would recommend doing so. You can still use a RB to draft a RB in this situation.

Bijan could still develop and be more involved in the passing attack. He has a young QB in Penix, so the youngster may find it more rewarding to check down to Bijan and let him excel in space.

On the bright side, Bijan is 23 years old, so he should have a very bright future ahead of him. Assuming he doesn’t have Todd Gurley syndrome, I could foresee him being a regular Pro Bowler for many seasons.

Bijan also plays a position in Atlanta where they have a stud RB2. This guy is none other than Tyler Allgeier. He has 43 carries thus far. They don’t have a RB duo as talented as the RB pair in Detroit. Still, the Falcons have a Top-5 duo.

Robinson is 15th in rushing yards, which is a concern. At least he is 34th in receptions, which is second among RBs!

I’d love to see Kyle Pitts traded, so there’s more opportunities for Robinson. He could be the next elite, versatile RB. Pitts only has 205 yards on the season thus far. Drake London still deserves to be WR1.
