Deep stashes in Week 6
By: Jake Rajala
There have been plenty of free agents in fantasy that can contribute to a team. With that said, I’m going to lay out several deep stashes.
Washington Defense
The Commanders have been on a bit of a rollercoaster. I still trust them to have many more top-end performances. They’ve scored 10+ points in three of their five showdowns. They are led by Bobby Wagner. Even Von Miller has gotten in on the action. Marshon Lattimore has been a bit of a dud, however. Daron Payne is a beast on the interior. Their front seven is mainly responsible for their defense ranking as the ninth best dynasty defense.
Justin Tucker
It’s time to think ahead. Justin Tucker will soon be off his suspension. I believe he will for sure join a team once this happens. Let’s not forget that he was the best overall kicker in the league! Furthermore, he has the record for the longest field goal in NFL history with 66 yards.
Joe Flacco
Sure, Joe Flacco has been an average QB. Well, now the big arm QB gets to play with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, who are arguably a Top-5 WR duo. Flacco went 4-1 in 2023 with the Browns, which is quite superior to his 2025 season, where he unleashed a 1-3 record. If Flacco can score over 20 pts in the next match-up, it would be wise to scoop him up.
Alec Pierce
Alec Pierce has had injury issues, but he has returned to practice after his injury. Pierce recorded 10 pts in Week 1 and 10 pts in Week 2. The Colts offense is on fire. That’s reason to hope he can be a part of the fireworks. Defenses already focus on J-Taylor, who is the best RB in the NFL.
Sterling Shepard
Sterling Shepard is a safe bet to get several points, but he’s not going to the Pro Bowl. He had 12 pts in Week 3 and 11.9 pts in Week 5. Interestingly, Shepard has outplayed Chris Godwin. Emeka Egbuka is demolishing foes and should be recognized as the OROY favorite.
Saints defense
As a Saints fan, I absolutely loved their performance on defense against the GMEN in Week 5. All they did was score 21 pts. Kool-Aid McKinstrey won Defensive Player of The Week after a pair of interceptions. They should get Chase Young back soon, as well. I’m intrigued to see how fresh the Saints veterans (Cam Jordan and Demario Davis) behave late in the season.
Dillon Gabriel
The future of the Browns QB spot may honestly be former Oregon Duck Dillon Gabriel. He is careful and accurate with the football. He had an admirable first career start of 16 pts. He has shown praise in the past offseason. More people are buying Shedeur Sanders jerseys, but that shouldn’t deny the direction that Gabriel is headed. Gabriel has higher expectations given his draft spot, as well.
Honorable Mention:
Spencer Rattler
The second Saints profile makes this list. Spencer Rattler is Top-5 in passing attempts. He had a deep throw to Rashid Shaeed for an 87 yard touchdown in Week 5. Rattler had 16 pts last week, which is average. I still believe he has huge upside. He has been compared to Jay Cutler, but I believe Rattler is a little more mobile. He has a PFF grade of 70.5, which is also middle of the pack.
As shown, there is a wide variety of deep free agents that should be considered for acquisition. Personally, I added Justin Tucker. I believe the Washington defense is the top option on this list.
