Why the Panthers can win their division
By: Jake Rajala
The Carolina Panthers have met expectations thus far in 2025. They are a .500 team, which is expected. With that said, I’m going to lay out a few reasons that CAR can win its division.
- Young skill players
Rico Dowdle burst onto the scene in 2025. He has run wild for 472 yards and averaged 5.8 YPC this season. He is fifth in rushing yards. Last season, he ran for 1,079 rushing yards. He should eclipse that this season, to say the least. Well, the bus doesn’t stop there. CAR is welcoming back Jalen Coker, who will slot in as the WR2. Coker was on pace for around 800 yards last season. Coker is a deep buy in dynasty.
- Schedule
Wow. The Panthers will be looking forward to facing the Falcons again, as they beat them 30-0 in their first matchup. Not only does Young get to compete against the Falcons for a second time, but he gets to face the Saints twice! We’ve witnessed Mac Jones and Drake Maye shred the Saints secondary. I will be honest: It won’t be easy to beat the Buccaneers. It would be positive if they could split games with the Bucs.
- The Rise of Bryce Young
Bryce Young threw for 15 touchdowns a season ago. Well, Young has already thrown 10 TDs this season. Yes, you read that correctly. PFF has given Young a grade of 68.2, which is in the middle of the pack. He should only improve with the young weapons, as they will all grow together. The patience with Young has seem to paid off at the very least. He may not have shown he’s worth the “first overall pick”, but he can be the true franchise QB for the Panthers.
The Panthers are very much still in it. They haven’t beaten lousy teams. They recently beat the Dallas Cowboys. This comes after knocking off the Miami Dolphins, who can make plays in a hurry. Personally, I’d like to see the Panthers take the division title away from the Bucs, as Tampa has won the NFC South in each of the past four seasons.
