7 best fits for Rashid Shaheed

Best fits for Rashid Shaheed

By: Jake Rajala

One of the most explosive wide receivers in the league, Rashid Shaheed, is one of the more popular trade targets on the New Orleans Saints. I don’t expect the Saints to trade Chris Olave, as he’s a young, elite wide receiver. As far as Brandin Cooks, I don’t love his upside at 32 years old. This leaves Shaheed as a face that could be moved. Hence, I’m going to lay out the several best fits for the deep threat.

Buffalo Bills

Let’s get the obvious pick out of the way. The Bills and Shaheed would be a match made in heaven. The combination of Josh Allen’s arm strength and Shaheed’s speed would be quite incredible. The Bills have James Cook in the running game, but it’s time to add a home run threat in the passing attack.

New England Patriots

Drake Maye is the ultimate dark horse pick to win MVP. He would help Maye take that next step. Furthermore, Stefon Diggs turns 32 in early November. Hence, he won’t be around much longer. Diggs also doesn’t have Ja’Marr Chase treatment, where Maye can force the ball to him. He only has one game of double digit targets (which was 12).

Pittsburgh Steelers

Don’t forget about Aaron Rodgers and T.J. Watt on the Steelers. They are still trying to win the Lombardi trophy right now. Rodgers has DK Metcalf (who has 461 yards and 5 TDs), but he can’t carry the Steelers weapons. Metcalf is the muscle and Shaheed can be the speed. The Steelers could win their division with their current roster, but they aren’t ready to fight elite teams, such as the Green Bay Packers.

Miami Dolphins

It may be wise to bring in Shaheed and move on from Tyreek Hill (after the season). Shaheed is the younger version of Hill. Rashid is 27 years old, while Hill is 31 years old. I’d love to see Mike McDaniel have more firepower so they can edge out the Bills for the first time in seven games! Shaheed could save McDaniel’s career with the Phins.

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans could really benefit from a top notch wideout. Shaheed could be the best WR on the Texans. The current Texans WR1 Nico Collins is a modest weapon, he’s not a home-run threat. Christian Kirk isn’t the WR he once was, as he showcases 10 grabs for 109 yards. CJ Stroud is slowly falling apart, as well. He only has 11 passing touchdowns on the season.

New York Giants

It won’t be easy for the GMEN to win without the second year, versatile WR Malik Nabers and the bowling ball Cam Skattebo. They could benefit from some new toys. Jaxson Dart could very well win OROY. He could be an All-Pro with some improvement on his fundamentals and another top-notch weapon to throw the ball to.

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns only have a quality WR in Jerry Jeudy. After Jeudy, they have Isaiah Bond, who has 11 catches for 123 yards. It’s a lot on Dillon Gabriel’s hands to leave him with pedestrian weapons. The nice part of this situation is that Jeudy is 26 years old, so Shaheed and Jeudy should dominate for many seasons to come.

The Saints are making a QB switch from Rattler to Tyler Shough, so they may wish to test their new rookie QB with one of their core pieces. If they have an offer for Shaheed, such as a third round pick, it makes a lot of sense for the Saints to pull the trigger on it.
