5 QBs to start right now
By: Jake Rajala
The dynasty football season is cooking up, as the playoffs approach. It’s vital to cover the quarterback spot, as there are plenty of thrilling matchups to exploit. With that said, I’m going to lay out five QBs to start in Week 11.
Drake Maye
Let’s start out with the obvious: Drake Maye. He doesn’t only play on TNF, but he plays against the Sauce Gardner-less New York Jets. The Jets are 26th in PPG allowed and 25th in passing touchdowns allowed. The Pats are also not with Rhamondre Stevenson, so that could mean an extra dose of passing attempts.
Aaron Rodgers
A-Rod has a lot of motivation after scoring 8.44 points against the Los Angeles Chargers. Khalil Mack and Derwin James won’t get shredded. Well, Rodgers gets to play a pedestrian Bengals defense in Week 11. The Bengals are last in the league in passing TDs allowed. Trey Hendrickson won’t be back in time for the game, too.
Michael Penix
If the rookie Tyler Shough can tear a part of a Panthers defense, you can bet that Michael Penix has the ability to do so, as well. Drake London is dealing with an injury, but I expect him to play. He has 118 yards and 104 yards in each of this prior two contests. Penix is still developing and this should be a big step forward. Take a look at his progress below.
J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy has scored at least 16 points in three of his past four games. He is still learning how to utilize Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones, too. McCarthy is going up against a Chicago Bears defense that is 28th in PPG allowed. They are even 29th in passing TDs allowed, as well. The Vikings are also home in this NFC North showdown.
Jacoby Brissett
Jacoby Brissett might have won himself a hefty contract in free agency this offseason. He has also scored at least 19 points in each of his past four games. He shouldn’t slow down against the 49ers. All they’ve done is rank 26th in passing TDs allowed. It doesn’t help the 49ers that they don’t have Nick Bosa or Fred Warner.
