Is Hopkins a future Hall of Famer?

DeAndre Hopkins, also known as D-Hop, has enjoyed a rich career. He played his first several seasons with the Houston Texans, as the Deshaun Watson-Hopkins duo was on fire. They couldn’t quite succeed in the playoffs.
It didn’t take long for Hopkins to unleash havoc in the league. He had 1,210 yards in his second season and then 1,521 yards in his third season (which led to a Pro Bowl berth and second team All-Pro nod). This was just the beginning.
In 2017, he registered a league high 174 targets and league best 13 touchdowns. The WR that could Moss defenders didn’t stop there. He made the Pro Bowl in 2018, 2019, and 2020. He went to the Tennessee Titans in 2023 and then stayed there until 2024. He then went to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, too. Finally, he went to the Baltimore Ravens in 2025.
So, the ultimate question is: Is Hopkins a future Hall of Famer?
I believe it’s worth comparing him to Andre Johnson, who made the Hall of Fame in 2024.
Johnson made seven Pro Bowls in his career. He is also a two-time first-team All-Pro. Meanwhile, Hopkins has made five Pro Bowls, but he’s been named first team AP three times. Johnson has 70 career touchdowns, while Hopkins already has 85. Johnson has 14,185 receiving yards, while Hopkins has hauled in 13,184 yards. Clearly, their resumes are very similar. I would have enjoyed seeing Hopkins win a Super Bowl with the KC Chiefs last season.
In the end, it seems obvious that Hopkins’s resume and comparison to HOF WRs peg him as a first ballot Hall of Famer. It also seems he is chasing a Super Bowl ring (as he has played with Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson), so he may want to play 2-3 more seasons.
