5 QBs to sit on Sunday
NFL quarterbacks aren’t made the way they used to be in 2025. We don’t have many elite pocket passers. With that said, I’m going to talk about the QB spot right now. I am going to lay out 5 QBs to sit in Week 12.
Kirk Cousins
The Saints hate the Atlanta Falcons. They absolutely hate them. Not only will the Saints play with extra energy against the failcons, but they are going up against a backup QB in Kirk Cousins. He had a 52.1 rating in limited action last week. The Saints scored 12 points against the Carolina Panthers. I believe they will come together again to score double digit points.
Tyrod Taylor
The Ravens aren’t exactly a team that any QB wants to play in their first start this season. Over the past few weeks, the Ravens have scored 17 points, 9 points, and 10 points over the past few weeks. Marlon Humphrey, Kyle Hamilton, and Roquan Smith aren’t scared to unleash havoc. Obviously, the Jets don’t have a lot of firepower outside of Garrett Wilson.
J.J. McCarthy
The Vikings second-year QB J.J. has been on a roller coaster in his 2025 season. He’s recorded 19, 16, and 8 points over the past few games. I don’t believe he will be brought back from the dead in Week 12. He plays a stingy Green Bay Packers defense. The Packers are seventh in PPG allowed and 10th in passing YPG allowed.
Shedeur Sanders
The rookie Shedeur Sanders may sell jerseys, but that doesn’t make him productive on the football field. His hands are tied. He plays with below average weapons and an OL that doesn’t dominate. Sanders struggled more than Johnny Manziel in his rookie season. Sanders needs some flashes of greatness to prove the Browns he is the future and they don’t need to draft a QB in 2026.
Baker Mayfield
I don’t love any QB facing off against the LA Rams. No, Aaron Donald. No problem. Over Baker’s past five games, he has scored more than 20 points once. Over the Rams five games, they have scored 19 points, 12 points, 10 points, 7 points, and then 10 points. I expect the Rams to make it a shootout with the NFL’s best WR tandem and then win by a large margin.
