Landing spots for Klint Kubiak
By: Jake Rajala
Klint Kubiak has proven to be one of the most creative player callers over the past couple of seasons. He was the offensive coordinator with the New Orleans Saints last season. He is currently the OC with the Seattle Seahawks. Kubiak has done a remarkable job. His offense is third in PPG. We’re not talking about an elite quarterback he’s competing with, as well. I would say Sam Darnold is a Top-20 QB, but not a Top-10 QB.
With that enunciated, Kubiak has quite the resume and age (38) that is appealing for head coaching vacancies. Hence, I’m going to lay out many potential head coaching spots for him.
New York Giants
Let’s start out with the obvious destination for Kubiak. The GMEN fired their head coach, and they need a new one asap. Kubiak could work with the young QB Jaxson Dart and RB Cam Skattebo, who were both playing like Offensive Rookie of the Year candidates before getting injured. Let’s not forget about Malik Nabers, too.
Cleveland Browns
Kevin Stefanski has been the opposite of a QB whisperer over the past couple of seasons. He wasn’t able to unleash havoc with Deshaun Watson. The Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel experiments haven’t worked, as well. I’d love to see a new HC pair with the young Shedeur Sanders, who has flexed his arm strength and throwing on the run. This is where Kubiak steps in to take him to the next level.
New Orleans Saints
I don’t believe the door on a Klint Kubiak reunion should be closed. Kubiak could return to an offense that he has chemistry with. He also gets to play in a dome, which is perfect for his high flying offense. It’s also quite loud and sounds like a Colosseum from ages ago.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders need a spark. Chip Kelly was recently fired. Geno Smith is also clearly not the long-term answer. Kubiak could find his “guy”. They may have a Top-10 pick to help him get an elite QB prospect. Kubiak can still work with Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty.
Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans have a very gifted QB in Cam Ward. The problem is that he’s in an abysmal situation. Calvin Ridley is his best option and he’s not a high-end WR1. After Ridley, they don’t have any reliable weapons. Their new starting WR is Elic Ayomanor, who was their fourth round pick in 2025. Chimere Dike was their other fourth round pick in 2025, who is also starting. They haven’t proven to be steals.
Honorable Mention:
New York Jets
Anthony Glenn is in a very ugly situation. He’s a defensive mind, but he lost Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams. He also doesn’t have a reliable QB, as he’s stuck with Tyrod Taylor and Justin Fields. They need to rebuild. They are in luck, as they should have a Top-5 pick. They still have Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall. I could see the Jets making similar progress with their future QB from the 2026 draft that the Colts made with Andrew Luck.
