Saints vs Dolphins preview
By: Jake Rajala
The New Orleans Saints are 2-9 and arguably the worst NFL team. They will be taking on the 4-7 Miami Dolphins. Each team will be playing for their jobs and pride. With that said, I’m going to unveil five players to watch in the contest.
Darren Waller
The Raiders legend, Darren Waller, came out of retirement this season to join the Phins. Well, Waller has been a stud. He has four touchdowns in three games. He was placed on injured reserve, but he has come off the list to play the Saints. Hopefully, he can thrive from the attention that Jaylen Waddle is bound to have.
Devin Neal
Devin Neal will be the bell cow RB with Alvin Kamara out this week. He is the sixth round pick of the 2025 draft for NO. He only has 17 carries for 61 yards this season. It’s time for him to prove he was worth the draft choice by the Saints.
Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough needs to prove he’s better than Spencer Rattler to stay on the Saints in 2026 in my opinion. Shough was impressive against the Panthers. He needs to show that wasn’t a fluke. They are bound to draft a QB in 2026. They will likely keep one of the QBs for competition. They could also trade Shough or Rattler for draft picks.
Miami Dolphins pass rush
I’m breaking my rule and not listing “one player” here. This is a collection of players. The Phins pass rush needs to excel against the rookie QB. They only have 21 sacks on the season. It’s time for them heat it up. They only had one sack against the Washington Commanders. I’d like to see Bradley Chubb get a couple of sacks in the game.
Taysom Hill
I don’t love the production and usage of Taysom Hill this season. He isn’t playing like he did a couple of seasons ago. Defenses aren’t loading up the box to stop him and he’s still not mowing down his competition. I’d love to see him get more screens and jet sweeps.
