Seahawks-Rams reflection
By: Jake Rajala
The mighty (11-3) Seattle Seahawks took on the other NFC West powerhouse (Los Angeles Rams) at home. Over the past five games, the Rams are 4-1.
With that simply said, I’m going to unfold five things we learrned from the game.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba came back from the dead
The NFL’s top WR, Jaxon Smith-Njigba was quite limited in the biggest game of the season. He didn’t have any catches in the first half. He started the cook up in the second half. He had a touchdown in overtime, which is uncommon. He’s unleashed 1,541 receiving yards and nine touchdowns already this season. The Hawks were careful with Sam Darnold, as he threw four interceptions in their first game. Perhaps this was why Jaxon got little attention early on.
Kenneth Walker
Kenneth Walker, who is bound to be a free agent in 2026, turned on the burners in the game. He had a 55 yard TD run. The Hawks really rely on their play action game, so it’s vital they can retain Walker in the offseason. The former Michigan Spartan is their best RB since Marshawn Lynch in my opinion.
Red zone offense
The Rams struggled to score touchdowns in the redzone in the first half of the contest. The Rams had to settle for a pair of field goals in the first half. They scored many more touchdowns, but they had to make a field goal with it. If the Rams were on fire in the red zone, it would have really been ugly and it would have buried the Hawks early.
Jason Myers
Jason Myers had 24 fantasy points last week. Well, it was safe to say he wasn’t a kicking machine in this game. He didn’t even attempt a field goal, which is rare. If Cooper Kupp didn’t fumble the ball in the Rams area, the Hawks would have scored a field goal at the very least.
Puck Nacua
Puka Nacua has been under a lot of scrutiny for his social media mishap. Well, the Rams didn’t punish him at all. He was their go to weapon in the match-up. He had over 200 yards and two touchdowns, which is more than admirable. He did a fine job of replacing Tae in the offense.
