The Packers boost their secondary

It’s fresh news: The Green Bay Packers claimed former Dallas Cowboy, Trevon Diggs, off waivers. The Boys wanted to save money. However, he is still 27 years old, and he should have some gas left in the tank. The ultimate question is: what does he bring to the land of cheese heads?
Diggs may be a starting CB in the league right now, but Diggs isn’t the same player he was when he notched 11 interceptions (including two pick sixes). He doesn’t blanket half the field. He was first team All-Pro in the season.
NFL sites haven’t been kind to Diggs thus far. PFF gives him a grade of 56.1, which is 80th among CBs. Ouch.
Diggs isn’t the first Dallas Cowboy to be moved on from Dallas in 2025. The Boys let pass rusher Demarcus Lawrence leave to the Seattle Seahawks in free agency. Of course, they shipped away Micah Parsons, who has been one of the best pass rushers in the league.
The Packers are 28th in interceptions. They don’t have the same secondary that Hall of Famer Charles Woodson or Tramon Williams once played for. Diggs will look to be a playmaker, as they really need him to save their secondary.
The strong safety Evan Williams leads the Pack in interceptions right now (with three ints). The second player with the most ints is free safety Xavier McKinney, who has a pair of ints.
The Packers really need to draft a CB in round 1 or round 2 in 2026. It’s worth mentioning that they play two very explosive offenses in their division with the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears. They don’t need to have the Legion of Boom. However, it wouldn’t hurt to have one Pro Bowl cornerback.
