Best destinations for J.J.

Let’s be honest: J.J. McCarthy was arguably the worst starting quarterback in the league. He threw 11 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. Someone should let him know that “we’re not in kansas Michigan anymore”. Nonetheless, he is still 23 years old, and he has plenty of time to bounce back. After all, the QB he replaced (Sam Darnold), took a few years to grow into a Pro Bowl-caliber QB. With that said, I still expect him to get a fresh start elsewhere. So, I’m going to unfold the best trade destinations for him.
Las Vegas Raiders
There may be some Michigan love, as Tom Brady played in Michigan. McCarthy could compete with Fernando Mendoza for the keys to the QB1 spot. The Geno Smith experiment is worse than the Deshaun Watson project in Cleveland. Hopefully, McCarthy can develop well, even if he doesn’t start.
Pittsburgh Steelers
A-Rod will most likely retire this off-season or the next. They need to have an answer at QB for when he leaves. Mike McCarthy has enjoyed a lot of success with Rodgers in Green Bay and Dak Prescott in Dallas. He won a Super Bowl with the Packers, for crying out loud.
Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagovailoa had a rough season, to be fair. I still believe there is a lot of potential in him. After all, he has led the league in passing yards and completion percentage in his career. Some friendly QB competition would bring out the best in each QB. The Dolphins can’t fall behind, as they sit in a division with two Super Bowl contenders (Bills and Patriots).
Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow might be made out of glass. Sadly, he has been injured numerous times in his career. They need a backup QB that won’t throw 2 TDs and six ints, or pull off a record of 2-8. It would be an understatement to say it’s a joke that Flacco made the Pro Bowl.
Indianapolis Colts
It’s unclear how Daniel Jones will bounce back from his torn Achilles. Furthermore, he may not even return to the Colts in free agency. Danny Dimes is another example of a QB who struggled early on his career, but turned into a superb QB after many seasons. J.J. could learn a thing or two from Jones.
Honorable Mention
Houston Texans
If it wasn’t already obvious, CJ Stroud struggled on the big stage. He unleashed four interceptions against New England Patriots. Stroud’s best season came when he was a rookie. That’s not exactly promising. He may have RG3 syndrome. The AFC South is also a very underrated division, as the Jaguars and Texans made the playoffs. The Colts barely missed out.
I’m not saying J.J. will be an All-Pro, but he has a plethora of arm talent. Let’s not forget that Peyton Manning had a horrific rookie season, too. J.J. could thrive in a home with a quality running game and pass protection. Perhaps he can get a few superb weapons and not just one.
