Seahawks at Patriots outlook
By: Jake Rajala
Yet again, the New England Patriots are taking on the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl. This time around, I hope the Hawks run the ball on the one yard line. The Hawks are unstoppable on offense and defense. Meanwhile, the Pats barely escaped a game against Jarrett Stidham. The Pats are most certainly the underdog in this one. With that said, I’m going to unfold bold predictions for the showdown.
Cooper Kupp has 125+ receiving yards
Cooper Kupp shows up when it matters the most. He has nine catches in the past two games combined. He had a touchdown last week, too. Kupp was named Super Bowl MVP when he played for the LA Rams in Super Bowl LVI. I expect the Patriots defense to really focus on Jaxon Smith-Njigba, which will open up things for Kupp.
The Seahawks intercept Drake Maye twice
I believe the lights will be a tad big for the second year QB Drake Maye. It also doesn’t help that Maye is battling a shoulder injury. Maye has yet to throw more than one interception in a game. This is what makes this prediction quite bold. When Peyton Manning played the Hawks in the Super Bowl, he threw two ints, as well,
Stefon Diggs has two touchdowns
I believe this game will be an high scoring affair. I don’t love the Pats weapons outside of Stefon Diggs. He has been quiet over the past few weeks. Two weeks ago, he had a touchdown. I believe he will have two TDs in this Super Bowl. Josh McDaniels will unveil everything that will make Diggs explode. Mr. Minneapolis Miracle will bleed for his team.
Harold Landry gets two or more sacks
Harold Landry is a poor man’s version of Von Miller. He can still really bend around the edge. He notched 8.5 sacks this season. I expect this to turn into a passing game after the first quarter. I believe the Pats will be trying to score at the end of the half and end of the game.
Earnest Jones gets two turnovers
We all remember Malcolm Smith winning Super Bowl MVP after having a few turnovers. Well, I expect Earnest Jones to have his turn to shine. Two weeks ago, he had an interception AND a forced fumble. I believe he will rise to the occasion in this bigger game.
