Best WR targets for the Las Vegas Raiders

Superb WR targets for the Raiders

By: Jake Rajala

The Las Vegas Raiders have a bright outlook at tight end with Brock Bowers and at running back with Ashton Jeanty. They are just missing a quality face at wide receiver. Hence, I’m going to lay out the best WR targets for them.

Rashid Shaheed

Rashid Shaheed has proven to be effective for the Seattle Seahawks under Klint Kubiak. Well, Kubiak is heading to Sin City to be the Raiders head coach. I’d like to see Rashid follow him. He may not be a 1k yard WR, but he can torch defensive backs on occasion. Of course, Shaheed is also an All-Pro return specialist.

Alec Pierce

Alec Pierce is one of the most impressive deep threats in the league. He averaged 21.3 YPC this season and 22.3 YPC last season (which was first in the league)! At 25 years old, he is just entering his prime. He has a PFF grade of 79.3, which is modest. Pierce may also want to play with Fernando Mendoza rather than Daniel Jones (or worse).

Brandon Aiyuk

It appears that Brandon Aiyuk is following Deebo Samuel out the door. Aiyuk is quite explosive and well-rounded. He unleashed 1,342 receiving yards and several touchdowns in 2023. This led him to be second team All-Pro. He only played in several games this season, sadly.

Deebo Samuel

Klint Kubiak had a versatile skill player in New Orleans by the name of Taysom Hill. Deebo Samuel is quite similar to him. Samuel can dazzle from the slot and at RB! He is also an explosive return specialist. I don’t know if Samuel wants to return to a complex situation, as Jayden Daniels had a sophomore slump and Kliff Kingsbury is no longer in town.

George Pickens

Anything is possible. George Pickens will most likely return to the Dallas Cowboys or sign with a Super Bowl contender. Nonetheless, someone has to sign him! The Raiders are second in cap space, so they may wish to make a serious attempt at luring him in.

Justin Jefferson

Justin Jefferson has expressed a depressed mood with his situation. Of course, we’re talking about his QB, who was ranked as the 35th best QB. It was a miracle that JJ eclipsed 1k receiving yards this season. The Raiders may not want to trade the first overall pick for him, but they could offer a second round pick and a 2027 first round pick (which is attractive) for him.

Chris Godwin

The Bucs have Emeka Egbuka at WR, and I expect they will make it a priority to bring back Mike Evans. This could make Chris Godwin somewhat expendable. Godwin also only played in 16 games in the past two seasons combined, so the Bucs may want to pardon him. Tom Brady knows first hand (as he played with Godwin) how special Chris is.

Honorable Mention:

A.J. Brown

A.J. Brown is another elite wideout who has been upset with his situation. Brown won’t be a Top-10 WR with Jalen Hurts throwing him the ball, especially with DeVonta Smith demanding a lot of targets. Brown can shine with screens and deep routes. I’d love to see the Raiders push to acquire him now, as he’s 28 years old.
