Jacksonville Jaguars RB targets this offseason

Jaguars RB targets

By: Jake Rajala

The Jacksonville Jaguars reached the playoffs last season. It took all hands on deck. With that said, they will have to be stern in their attempt to get the gang back together. The main chess piece is none other than Travis Etienne, who will be a free agent in 2026. With that said, I’m going to lay out the best RB targets for the Jags (which may include Etienne).

Travis Etienne

It simply makes too much sense. Etienne should be their priority. After all, this is his home. He unleashed 1,107 rushing yards, several rushing touchdowns, and had 292 receiving yards. He had a PFF grade of 72.6, so he’s far from perfect. Etienne has been with Trevor Lawrence through it all. I’m sure there is interest in finishing it together.

David Montgomery

There have been trade rumors around David Montgomery, who is one of the best RB2s in the league. He may want to go from a backup on a team that missed the playoffs to a starter on a team that made the playoffs last season. David has been quite crucial to the success of the Lions. He ran for 716 yards, eight touchdowns, and averaged 4.5 YPC, too. He had a modest PFF grade of 75.3. He is 28 years old, so he should have a few more quality seasons left.

Alvin Kamara

Alvin Kamara and Etienne are very similar. They both can excel in space and in the passing game. I believe Kamara could use a change in scenery, too. AK was ranked dead last in PFF’s RB rankings. I expect the Saints to rebuild their RB spot, just as they have a young QB in Tyler Shough and a young WR in Chris Olave.

Breece Hall

Breece Hall is a Top-3 RB in free agency. Hall registered 1,065 rushing yards and averaged 4.4 YPC. Let’s not forget this guy is 24 years old! He’s one of the best RBs to not make a Pro Bowl. He may even be an upgrade over Etienne in their quality system. He had a PFF grade of 83.5 last season, which was seventh among RBs!

J.K. Dobbins

Dobbins also makes a ton of sense as a replacement for Etienne. As noted by PFF, he had a grade of 80.8 through the first 10 weeks of the season. He averaged 5.0 YPC, which is impressive. He is also 27 years old, so he has a few years of quality play left in him. He was second in CPOTY in 2024.

Saquon Barkley

If they really want to be bold, they should target a trade for a well-established RB. Saquon Barkley would be a fine answer for them. He can run, catch. and jump. Saquon has unleashed 1,140 rushing yards, averaging 4.1 YPC, and had 273 receiving yards. The Jags may be closer to winning a Super Bowl than the Eagles right now, as well.

Aaron Jones

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Vikings rebuild their offense around a young, new QB. Aaron Jones is their stud RB, but he’s 31 years old. The Jags are seeking to win a Super Bowl right now, while the Vikings are the last place team in their division. Jones needs to show of much he cares about winning.
