Redrafting the Top-10 picks of the 2024 NFL draft right now
By: Jake Rajala
The 2024 NFL Draft was a special one. There were many talented quarterbacks, skill players, and offensive linemen who went off the board early. With that said, I’m going to discuss the Top-10 picks of the 2024 NFL draft and redraft them.
1. Chicago Bears
Original Pick: Caleb Williams
Updated Pick: Caleb Williams
I still have the Bears taking Caleb Williams. He has made magical, nearly impossible plays for the Bears. He doesn’t need an elite WR. He can uplift his wideouts.
2. Washington Commanders
Original Pick: Jayden Daniels
Updated Pick: Drake Maye
Drake Maye was second in MVP voting last season. His second season was more impressive than Tom Brady’s second season. Maye is efficient, accurate, and consistent. Jayden Daniels took Washington to the NFC Championship last season, but he had a sophomore slump last season, as he went 2-5.
3. New England Patriots
Original Pick: Drake Maye
Updated Pick: Bo Nix
With Maye and Williams off the board, they have to take the third best QB, who is Bo Nix in my opinion. If he didn’t get injured in the playoffs last season, I sincerely believe the Broncos would have beaten the Pats and would have advanced to the Super Bowl.
4. Arizona Cardinals
Original Pick: Marvin Harrison Jr.
Updated Pick: Malik Nabers
I believe Malik Nabers is one step ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr. Nabers made the Pro Bowl as a rookie, as he unleashed 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Harrison Jr. notched 885 yards and eight touchdowns in his rookie season.
5. Los Angeles Chargers
Original Pick: Joe Alt
Updated Pick: Brock Bowers
Nobody expected Brock Bowers to be a Top-3 TE as a rookie. He recorded 1,194 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie season, which led him to earn first team All-Pro honors!
6. New York Giants
Original Pick: Malik Nabers
Updated Pick: Brian Thomas Jr.
I like Brian Thomas Jr. a little more than Harrison Jr. Brian Thomas notched 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024. He unleashed only 707 yards in 14 games last season, so it was a bit of a decline. I’m not sold on Travis Hunter taking away key reps from him, as Hunter will mainly play CB and then a splash of WR.
7. Tennessee Titans
Original Pick: JC Latham
Updated Pick: Joe Alt
Joe Alt was simply the best OT in the draft. He had a PFF grade of 79 last season, which is modest for a “second year” OT. JC only had a grade of 66.2 last season, which isn’t admirable.
8. Atlanta Falcons
Original Pick: Michael Penix Jr.
Updated Pick: Jayden Daniels
I don’t believe Jayden Daniels will be like RG3 and burn out after his rookie season. I’d like to see Daniels get another crack at it, with Deebo Samuel and Scary Terry.
9. Chicago Bears:
Original Pick: Rome Odunzo
Updated Pick: Marvin Harrison Jr.
Marvin Harrison is still worthy of a Top-10 pick. He has a lot of upside. He has played well with Jacoby Brissett, which can’t be easy. Rome Odunzo hasn’t topped 734 yards in one of his two seasons. I would say Rome would be a late first round pick in a re-draft at best.
10. Minnesota Vikings
Original Pick: J.J. McCarthy
Updated Pick: Michael Penix Jr.
J.J. McCarthy looked like the worst QB in the league last season. Michael Penix Jr. hasn’t proven to be a Pro Bowl-caliber QB, but he has more upside than McCarthy. Penix Jr. threw nine touchdowns to thre ints in 2025.
