Where will Travis Kelce play in 2026?
By: Jake Rajala
Travis Kelce is a sure-fire future Hall of Famer. Well, it doesn’t appear that he is done yet. He is a free agent in 2026, however. So, the question is; Where will Kelce play in 2026? I’m going to lay out the best fits for him.
Kansas City Chiefs
“If ain’t broke, don’t fix it”
Kelce has won a few Super Bowls with the Chiefs. He has potent chemistry with the genius Andy Reid and Top-10 QB of all time, Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes and Kelce have the best chemistry between a QB and TE in the league. The only reason he wouldn’t join the Chiefs is if he believes that the Chiefs will not return to stardom, as they missed the playoffs last season.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are a safer pick to win a Super Bowl soon. They have Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. I want them to go from an elite offense to a legendary offense with the addition of Kelce. They were arguably the second best team in the league last season. The Rams put up a better fight against the Seahawks than the Pats did in their showdown against Hawks.
New England Patriots
It’s quite impressive that Drake Maye was second in MVP voting with an “average group of weapons” and that he was in his “second” season. Josh McDaniels would be the perfect play-caller for Kelce. Josh McDaniels knows how to utilize tight ends. Just ask Gronk. Hunter Henry is a modest TE, but he’s not a Pro Bowler-caliber TE.
Seattle Seahawks
Of course, it would be tempting to join the defending Super Bowl Champions. They have Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp. Rashid Shaheed is a FA, but he could very well return to the Rainy City. Sam Darnold is also efficient and accurate with the pigskin. The case against Kelce joining the Hawks is that their 2025 offensive coordinator, Klint Kubiak, left to the Raiders.
Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills need a couple of pieces to get over the hump. The 2024 MVP, Josh Allen, can’t carry them by himself. They have Allen and the leading rusher last season in James Cook. They just need a prolific pass catcher. Insert Kelce to the equation. I’d still like them to bring in a WR that can stretch the field. Brandin Cooks can’t be that answer at this stage in his career.
Denver Broncos
Kelce would be going to the dark side if he joined the Denver Broncos. However, it makes sense. I’m not buying the potential from Broncos TE Evan Engram at this stage in his career. They also have Sean Payton. There was a TE by the name of Jimmy Graham who was a Top-3 TE under Payton.
Cleveland Browns
The Browns are the most unlikely team to ink Kelce. However, he may be intrigued of the combination of money and QB talent. Shedeur Sanders developed nicely last season. I also believe David Njoku will test the market and leave. The Browns play in a lot of cold, crummy games, so it helps to have a tough TE to help make plays.
