Best fits for Jeremiyah Love in 2026

Best fits for Jeremiyah Love

By: Jake Rajala

There is no doubt: Jeremiyah Love isn’t only the best running back in the 2026 NFL Draft. He is the best prospect in the NFL draft. He is more impressive than Ashton Jeanty in the 2025 NFL Draft. If Love lands on a team with a somewhat superb OL, he is a very early pick for OROY in my opinion. He has been compared to Bijan Robinson and Jamhyr Gibbs. With that said, I’m going to lay out the best fits for him.

Houston Texans

The 30 year old and former Houston Texan Nick Chubb is a free agent and former Texans RB Joe Mixon (who missed all of last season) was recently cut (hence, he’s a free agent). The Texans may have the worst group of RBs right now. It’s challenging enough for the young CJ Stroud. They really need a gifted ball-carrier to help him, especially in the playoffs. Stroud had three turnovers in the divisional round. The Texans were 22nd in rushing YPG last season. They do not have an early pick, so they would have to trade up to select him.

New Orleans Saints

This is obvious. If the New Orleans Saints can’t lure in Travis Etienne in free agency, they need to swing big in the draft. Alvin Kamara was ranked as the worst RB by PFF last season. He doesn’t have a lot of juice and his routes aren’t as crisp as they used to be. Kamara is also 30 years old, which is the age that RBs take a sharp decline. Plus, he’s had injury issues. The Saints also have a Top-10 pick, so they are in a prime position to snag him. Kamara can still be a third down back.

Minnesota Vikings

I expect the former Green Bay Packer Aaron Jones to be playing elsewhere in 2026. He only played in 12 games last season for the Minnesota Vikings. He had 548 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns, which wasn’t daunting. He is also 31 years old, so he’s on the decline. Jordan Mason is blossoming, as he had 758 rushing yards and averaged 4.8 YPC. I still want to see more talent at the RB. It’s not clear how Mason can manage as a bell-cow RB.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos have RJ Harvey and JK Dobbins, but I expect JK Dobbins to leave in free agency. The Broncos need more explosion at their RB spot. Love and Harvey can be the same RB tandem that Sean Payton had in Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. The Broncos were 21nd rushing YPG last seaosn. It’s time for a change at RB. Payton also had a RB by the name of Reggie Bush, who helped them win a Super Bowl.

Seattle Seahawks

I expect the Seattle Seahawks to lose the former Michigan State Spartan, Kenneth Walker in free agency. Walker won Super Bowl MVP and had 1,027 rushing yards last season. He will likely be overpaid by another team. Love can be his replacement. The Hawks were 10th in rushing YPG last season. They need to retain a potent running game. Love can be the “next Marshawn Lynch”.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Just as the Hawks are likely moving on from Kenneth Walker, the Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be moving on from the versatile Travis Etienne. The Jags were 19th in rushing YPG last season, which wasn’t promising. Trevor Lawrence is going to be in Jacksonville for a long time. The Jags also have a couple of wide receivers in Brian Thomas Jr and Travis Hunter. They just need a highly promising RB.

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns were 27th in rushing YPG last season. The 2025 rookie Quinshon Judkins isn’t guaranteed to be the answer. He averaged 3.6 YPC. He also only had 171 receiving yards, so he’s wasn’t that versatile. He had a PFF grade of 66.6, which was 47th out of 55 RBs. I wouldn’t be opposed if the Browns had a reunion with Kareem Hunt, as well.

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions moved on from the bowling ball David Montgomery. The fastest RB in the world, Jahmyr Gibbs is their 1A. I’d love to see them have a 1B. The Lions were 13th in rushing YPG last season. They can be a Top-5 rushing offense with Love. Make no doubt about it. The only reason Love wouldn’t be a Lion is that they don’t have an early draft pick to land him. The Lions also missed the playoffs last season. They need a spark to get them over the hump.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have a potent RB in Derrick Henry. Well, he can’t play forever, as he’s 32 years old. We’ve seen Alvin Kamara take steps back. Perhaps Henry will lose some juice soon, as well. He has already had fumble issues. If the Ravens draft Love in round one, they could trade Henry, too.
