WR targets for the Dolphins

It’s official: the Miami Dolphins traded Jaylen Waddle and a fourth round pick to the Denver Broncos for a 2026 first, third, and a fourth round pick. This comes after the Phins parted ways with Tyreek Hill earlier in the offseason. Hence, it’s clear the Phins need to reel in a WR or two soon. So, I’m going to lay out many WR targets for them.
Tre Tucker
The legendary Steve Smith Jr. already believes that the Raiders and Tre Tucker are headed toward a divorce. Tucker reeled in 696 yards, five touchdowns, and 57 catches last season. He had a PFF grade of 65.9 last season. I expect the Raiders to ship him away to address other needs, such as positions on defense. The Raiders could still draft a WR with their 33rd pick (assuming they draft Fernando Mendoza with their first overall pick). Furthermore, the Raiders also have Jalen Nailor, Jack Bech, and Brock Bowers to throw to.
Tee Higgins
I’d like to see the Bengals have a more balanced attack. They have the All-Pro WR Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. I would like to see them flip Higgins for the Bengals center Tyler Linderbaum. Higgins is a prolific WR2, but the Bengals could control the ball more and slowly mow down defenses with a more superior OL. Joe Burrow had his best season as a pro in 2024. Let it be known that Higgins only played in 12 games in 2024.
Garrett Wilson
The 2022 Offensive Player of the Year, Garrett Wilson, is in a similar situation that Waddle was in. Wilson is a young, outstanding wideout at a thing WR group. He also sits on a team that has traded away young, key players such as Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams. So, it wouldn’t be a complete surprise if the Jets traded away Wilson for early draft picks. They could use more picks to try to get a QB early in the 2026 draft.
Elic Ayomanor
The Tennessee Titans have nicely built their WR group over the past couple of seasons. They have Calvin Ridley, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Elic Ayomanor. Elic is sort of the odd man out in my opinion. He still has plenty of potential, as he’s 22 years old. He recorded 515 yards on 41 catches (and he had 89 targets). He did have a PFF grade of 60.4, so there’s plenty of room for him to improve.
Jauan Jennings
The former San Francisco 49ers WR Jauan Jennings isn’t only coming off a productive season, but he is also 28 years old. There aren’t quite many young and talented WRs left in the free agency pool. Last season, Jennings recorded 88 targets, 643 yards and nine touchdowns (which was sixth among WRs). In 2024, he notched 975 yards and six touchdowns. Jennings can shine from the slot or out wide. If Jennings doesn’t return to a 49ers team that really needs him, I believe the Phins are a logical landing spot for him.
Jerry Jeudy
I’d like to see the Browns exchange their WR1 (Jerry Jeudy) for an early draft pick. After all, he just isn’t on another level in a Browns uniform. He only recorded 602 yards and two touchdowns last season. Those were career low numbers. Then I’d like to see them trade up for a gifted QB1 in the 2026 draft. I don’t love Shedeur Sanders, who threw more interceptions than touchdowns a season ago. I also want to see the Browns bring in another talented RB and get back to the days of ground and pound. If they really want to give Sanders another season before throwing in the towel on him, it would be quite spectacular to see them draft an edge rusher to go along with the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year.
AJ Brown
Many teams have inquired about AJ Brown’s services. He is on a Philadelphia Eagles team that has a lot of mouths to feed. They have DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, Saquon Barkley, and even Hollywood Brown. The recent acquisition of Brown makes me believe they are taking steps to replace Brown. Brown could return to his All-Pro days on a Dolphins team that would throw him the ball a lot. They don’t have other significant weapons.
Honorable Mention:
Chris Olave
Just like Waddle and (Garrett) Wilson, Chris Olave has a high ceiling (as he had 100 catches, 1,163 yards, and nine touchdowns last season). However, he is on a team that may not properly utilize his talents. The Saints could also trade Olave and go in a direction where they pound the ball. After all, they recently acquired Travis Etienne. Travis and Alvin Kamara could be one of the top 1-2 punches at RB in this league.
