Eagles WR outlook right now

It finally happened. After many months of playing the patient game, the AJ Brown trade occurred. The Eagles shipped away Brown for a 2028 first round pick and a 2027th fifth round pick. We know the Pats got a wideout that can be an All-Pro. So, the question is: what is the outlook for the Eagles WR room?
DeVonta Smith will jump into the WR1 role. Smith once battled criticism for being underweight. After Conor McGregor proved weight isn’t everything, Smith showed he can be a stud with little weight in his corner.
Smith is the best WR to not make a Pro Bowl in my opinion. He recorded three 1k yard seasons in his past four seasons. He also had eight touchdowns, seven TDs, and seven TDs in three seasons. Smith is also 27 years old, so he has a few more seasons to shine.
After the alpha in Smith, the Eagles WR2 is Makai Lemon. He is their rookie that was drafted 20th overall. Lemon took quite a jump last season. He unleashed 11 touchdowns and 1,156 yards last season. He was compared to Amon Ra. St Brown by Lance Zierlein.
I foresee Hollywood Brown being their WR3. He was a modest weapon for the Kansas City Chiefs last season. He had 587 yards and five touchdowns. The Chiefs feel that Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelce can conquer with more targets their way in 2026. He’s also 28, so he has some gas left in the tank.
The Eagles have a few reliable pass catchers in my opinion, whether they are in their early 20s or late 20s. They aren’t acting like the Giants, where they have to bring in a few washed up wideouts in the last second. Of course, I’m talking about the GMEN signing OBJ and JuJu today.
I wouldn’t be opposed to the Eagles trading for a WR in their early 20s, who can be a prominent WR3. Jordan Addison would be worth the compensation. He’s also stranded with the worst QB in the league (J.J. McCarthy).
I also don’t love the fact that they traded away Brown, while they have a mid crisis at the RB position. Saquon isn’t jumping over defenders backwards, to put it simply.
The Eagles should be thankful that the rest of the NFC East doesn’t appear to be above and beyond the rest of the division. The Eagles may be able to afford a “short term” step back in 2026.
