Big moves the Rams could do next
By: Jake Rajala
The Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead isn’t afraid to make jaw-dropping moves. We’ve seen him acquire Matthew Stafford, Jalen Ramsey, Davante Adams, Von Miller, Bobby Wagner, and OBJ in recent memory. With that said, I’m going to lay out five potential moves that the Rams could pull off in the near future.
Sign Stefon Diggs
I’d love to see a prominent WR3 on the Rams. The free agent Stefon Diggs had 1,013 yards and 85 grabs last season. If you remove his injury-riddled season in 2024, where he only played in eight games, he recorded at least 849 yards in a season since his rookie year. As a rookie, he had 720 yards. We should still be patient and take his miscues off the field serious.
Trade for Jalen Ramsey
It’s time to reunite with the former elite CB Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey is still productive, as he made the Pro Bowl last season. He can be a hybrid corner and safety. We witnessed Charles Woodson nearly play until he was 40 in that role. Ramsey needs to be honest and accept that the Rams are more suited to win it all than the Steelers.
Bring Aaron Donald out of retirement
Aaron Donald has expressed more interest to come out of retirement after Myles Garrett came to Cali. Donald is 35 years old and he’s in excellent shape. Cam Jordan and Von Miller are 36. Cam Heyward is 37 and Calais Campbell is 39! Age is just a number. Donald could only come in on third downs, if that’s his goal.
Sign Taysom Hill
Somehow, the Swiss army knife Taysom Hill is still a free agent. We do know he won’t return to the Saints, as he posted his house in the Big Easy for sale. If he doesn’t reunite with Sean Payton in Denver, I’d love to see him join the best team in the league, Los Angeles Rams. Hill can be that x-factor deep in the playoffs.
Trade for Alvin Kamara
The former OROY Alvin Kamara may want to go out swinging for a Lombardi trophy in his remaining days in the league. The Saints have Travis Etienne and Kendre Miller is still young. Kamara could be the 1B Kyren Williams, who is the 1A. Sean McVay would dream up ways to give Kamara the ball, especially in the passing game.
The Rams want to win it all next year. They witnessed their main enemy (Seattle Seahawks) defeat them and win the Super Bowl last season. The Rams don’t want to wait to win it all. They know that Stafford will likely play 1-2 more seasons. It’s crucial to make trades that can help “win now”.
