Biggest trade candidates to watch
By: Jake Rajala
The NFL season is a few months away. This doesn’t mean teams should relax and take their foot off the pedal. After all, we recently witnessed the LA Rams trade for Myles Garrett. With that said, I’m going to unveil five trade candidates to watch before the 2026 season.
Mac Jones
There is no doubt: Mac Jones is the best QB2 in the league. He stepped in and played like a Top-15 QB last season. He went 5-3 and threw 13 touchdown to six interceptions. PFF handed him a grade of 77.1, which was 13th among QBs! I could see the Browns, Cardinals, or Vikings try to lure him in.
Spencer Rattler
Spencer Rattler was once projected to be a first round pick. Spencer Rattler has off the charts arm talent. He just needs to be more consistent and be more sharp at reading defenses. Tyler Shough separated himself from Rattler. It’s his team now. Rattler is still 25, so he could still learn and sit for a couple of seasons, and still have plenty of years ahead of him.
T.J. Watt
Many people want Maxx Crosby to be the next elite pass rusher to be traded. I’d prefer to see T.J. Watt be shipped out. After all, Crosby is more lethal than Watt right now. Watt is also a few years older than Crosby. Watt recorded 7 sacks and 10 TFLs last season. Crosby notched 10 sacks and 28 tackles for loss. Crosby means more to the Raiders than what Watt does for the Steelers.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara took a step back last season. He was ranked as the worst RB by PFF. To make matters worse, the Saints have a new RB1 in town. That would be Travis Etienne. The Saints also have Kendre Miller, who has a lot of potential, at 24 years old. I could see Kamara reuniting with Sean Payton in Denver.
George Kittle
This is the ultimate wildcard trade. George Kittle recorded 57.1 YPG, which was his third lowest of his career. The 49ers also have Christian McCaffrey at RB, the recently acquired Mike Evans at WR, Ricky Pearsall at WR, and the veteran Christian Kirk at WR. Brock Purdy is a stud, but I wouldn’t say he’s a Top-5 QB. I’d love to see Kittle join a team like New England, Cincinnati, Detroit, or Buffalo.
