QBs the Falcons could trade for

The Atlanta Falcons brought in former Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa to join the early draft choice Michael Penix. I don’t want to see the bus stop there. I’d love to see them consider bringing in an “elite” QB. Hence, I’m going to lay out five QBs the Falcons could trade for.

Jordan Love

Jordan Love is slightly above average. Love isn’t a magician or a stat machine. He can make plays and keep his team alive in every game. I believe that now is the time to trade Love for many early draft picks. They already added Micah Parsons and extended Christian Watson.

Trevor Lawrence

I could foresee the Jags trading T-Lawrence for the “house”. They loved drafting Travon Walker with the first overall pick and Travis Hunter with the second overall pick. They have the pieces in place to be successful right now. Lawrence is too young to capitalize off it in “2026”.

Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson failed to make the playoffs by falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers a season ago. He’s still quite an MVP-caliber QB in my opinion. I don’t believe he can carry the Ravens, nonetheless. The Ravens will also lose Derrick Henry in the near future. It would be only fitting if those two were able to leave Baltimore together.

Baker Mayfield

Sure, the Bucs and the Falcons play in the same division. Well, that doesn’t mean they can’t make a deal that benefits both parties. Baker also has some complex issues with his contract. If Baker can’t get his contract resolved soon, he may be a popuar trade option.

CJ Stroud

I didn’t love the recent playoff performance by CJ Stroud. He still has impressive arm strength, as it came with him from OSU. Stroud is also 24 years old, which is the same age as Titans second year QB Cam Ward and is two years younger than Saints second year QB Tyler Shough.

The Falcons need to make a blockbuster trade for a QB in my opinion. The Saints were 5-4 under Tyler Shough last season and the three other teams had eight wins. All of the teams are a piece away from having a winning record. To be fair, there are a couple of names on this list that may take a year to lead its team to the playoffs.
