$71 star may seek a trade from the Buccaneers

$71 star may not be a Buccaneer soon

The behemoth Vita Vea wreaks havoc for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive line. Well, he has taken a sharp look at the mirror and he realizes he’s worth a bigger contract than his current contract. He is currently holding out from mini-camp. With that said, it’s quite possible he is traded. So, I’m going to lay out some potential fits for him.

Chicago Bears

Dennis Allen (Bears DC) is one of the best defensive minds in football. This doesn’t mean his unit is perfect. They were 26th in rushing YPG allowed. However, they also led the league in turnovers. Vea would fit well next to Gervon Dexter. All Dexter did last season was record 6 sacks, six TFLs, and 44 tackles.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are trying to make a dream team. They brought in Myles Garrett, who just happened to win DPOY last season. This reminds me when the Rams had Aaron Donald and Von Miller on the same DL. So, Garrett just needs his sidekick, who should also be a DT.

New York Jets

The New York football Jets were 29th in rushing YPG allowed. They also moved on from defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. To be fair, Demario Davis should make plays. I don’t believe he’s the same All-Pro player he was once at age 37 years old. Vea could help slow down Josh Allen (2024 MVP) and Drake Maye (2025 runner up for MVP).

San Francisco 49ers

Alfred Collins is a modest nose tackle, but he’s not an elite profile. Vea would really help Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams dominate. The 49ers also play in a division that featured the two NFC Championship teams (Seahawks and Rams). The Rams and Seahawks have a lot of beef up front.

New Orleans Saints

It’s been recently shown that Cameron Jordan is returning on a one year deal. He needs another veteran DL to try and go into the sunset. The Saints also have Chase Young on their DL, who can make a lot of noise (10.5 sacks in 12 games last season). The Bucs may not want to make this trade happen due to the Saints and Bucs competing in the same division.

I wouldn’t be overly surprised if Vea demands a trade. He’s on the final stages of his career. If he’s going to play for a team that’s not a Super Bowl contender, he will want the bank.
