NFL teams that could end their playoff drought
By: Jake Rajala
The NFL playoffs are the most intense part of sports. With that said, there is usually a lot of different teams that make it. The New York Jets haven’t made it in 15 years! That’s very uncommon. With that said, there are still many teams that haven’t made it beyond a couple of seasons. So, I’m going to lay out NFL teams that could end their drought next season.
Cincinnati Bengals (three seasons)
It felt like yesterday when the Bengals were in the Super Bowl. The Bengals have more firepower than most teams. They have Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Mike Gesicki. Let’s not forget about their sheriff, Joe Burrow. Burrow went 5-3 last season, but suffered a turf toe injury that held him out longer. The Bengals don’t have Trey Hendrickson, but they do have “Sexy Dexy”, also known as Dexter Lawrence.
New Orleans Saints (five seasons)
Similar to the Bengals, they have a QB that had a winning record last season. Of course, I’m talking about Tyler Shough (who went 5-4). The Saints also added the former Jags RB Travis Etienne and Jordyn Tyson to their offense! They lost Demario Davis, but they brought back Cameron Jordan.
Indianapolis Colts (five seasons)
The Colts need to lean on Jonathan Taylor and Alec Pierce if they want to go back to the promised land. JT went from a Top-3 RB in the first half of last season, to a RB that fell out of the Top-10 in the second half of last season. It didn’t help that Daniel Jones was injured. Clearly, you can tell there’s a reoccurring theme with these teams listed. Danny Dimes went 8-5 with Indy last season.
Dallas Cowboys (two seasons)
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a victory against the Philadelphia Eagles. Since then, the Eagles lost AJ Brown and Saquon Barkley is struggling from the Madden curse. The Cowboys lost Micah Parsons, but they brought in Quinnen Williams and Rashan Gary. I really hope they can bring back George Pickens. If they can’t, I’d love to see them trade him for Maxx Crosby, T.J. Watt, or another WR.
