Overrated QBs headed into this season

The NFL has a plethora of captivating quarterbacks. They also have many QBs that are deemed elite, yet they are overrated. So, I’m going to lay out overrated QBs headed into 2026.
Lamar Jackson
Lamar Jackson should never let Aaron Rodgers beat him in a do or die situation. That’s exactly what happened last season. Jackson is simply coming off his worst NFL season. He went 6-7 last season and threw 21 touchdowns in the process. He also had a PFF grade of 74, which placed him at 20th out of 43 QBs.
Justin Herbert
Don’t buy the hype of Jim Harbaugh loving Justin Herbert. He hasn’t thrown more than 30 touchdowns in his last four seasons. He is also coming off a season where he threw 13 interceptions. He may date a singer, but that can’t save his efforts on the field. I do like his athletic ability, especially when he throws on the run. Nonetheless, there is a lot of room to grow.
Malik Willis
Yes, I know that Malik Willis is new to being prepped as the QB1. I don’t exactly feel a lot of comfort in placing a lot of hope in him. He has a small sample size and he’s not been that impressive at the same time. He has thrown 6 TDs in 6 of those games. He has a 3-3 record. PFF ranked Willis as their 30th best QB. I do like his completion percentage of 67.7, nonetheless.
Jalen Hurts
I wasn’t blown away by Jalen Hurts last season. To make matters worse, he doesn’t have AJ Brown this season. Hurts was recently ranked as the 15th best QB by PFF. Saquon Barkley is also not the same QB that landed on the Madden cover. At least, Hurts is 27 years old, so he has a lot of area to grow.
Geno Smith
This one is a no-brainer. It may seem obvious to everyone outside the Big Apple that Geno Smith is washed up. Smith has thrown 17 ints last season and 15 ints in the season before that. Smith may have some talent to be a game manager, but he isn’t a situation that can thrive with him slowly breaking down opposing defenses.
