Who could break 20 sacks?

It isn’t easy to eclipse 20 sacks in a single season. 23 pass rushers have done it. It’s harder than climbing Mount Everest. With that said, I’m going to discuss candidates to eclipse 20 sacks in the upcoming season.
Aidan Hutchinson
Aidan Hutchinson, also known as “Hutch”, had 14.5 sacks last season. This was a career high. I don’t love the make-up or talent on offense by the non-Lions teams in the NFC North. Ozzy Trapilo is a middle of the pack tackle on the Bears after being picked in round two from 2025. As for the Vikings, they may be trotting our J.J. McCarthy, who could be the worst NFL starting QB. The Bears are hard to pick on. Caleb Williams can be prone to getting sacked when he often uses his legs.
Myles Garrett
It wouldn’t be fair to leave Myles Garrett off this list. After all, he broke the sack record last season. He may even have more sacks by being an LA Ram. The Rams are going to be in a lot of high scoring games. This could help Garrett pin his ears back and get after the QB. It’s impressive that Garrett broke the record at the age of 29-30.
Micah Parsons
It’s not easy to pick the best pass rusher in the NFC North. Micah Parsons missed a few games and was still named first team All-Pro. Obviously, we know the news surrounding his torn ACL. Hopefully, he can be ready for Week 1. I hope the Packers don’t trade Parsons and then see him traded a couple of more times. We’ve seen Brandin Cooks have this treatment.
Maxx Crosby
Mad Maxx needs to prove that he deserves to have the Eastern Michigan football stadium named after him. Crosby had 14.5 sacks in a single season before. He’s had double digit sacks in three of his past four seasons. We know he’s strong against the run. I’d love to see him improve his pass rush and try to break Garrett’s record.
Chase Young
This one if my ultimate x factor. Chase Young had 10 sacks in 12 games. Young flourishes in Brandon Staley’s scheme. Young is still 27, so he has a lot of potential. He is able to learn from a Hall of Famer (Cam Jordan) is practice every day.
Honorable Mention:
T.J. Watt
I’m not a big fan of T.J. Watt having a down year at age 31 years old. I believe he can still dominate from some skill and a lot of experience. We’re talking about a Watt! Joe Flacco recently applauded Watt for hitting him hard last season.
