Saints-Jaguars reflection

The New Orleans Saints battled the Jacksonville Jaguars yesterday afternoon. It was a thriller, to say the least. With that simply said, I’m going to unfold five things we learned from the contest.
Zach Wilson 360
Zach Wilson looked like a different QB that we’ve seen in recent memory. He was sharp, focused, and on the mark. He was 11 for 16, 145 yards, and a touchdown. He finished with a passer rating of 118. If he continues to be impressive, the Saints may look to trade Spencer Rattler and roll with Wilson has their QB2. Of course, Wilson will need to keep up his superb work against starters, too.
Mike Weldman
Mike Weldman has been a star in this offseason thus far. It wasn’t a fluke that he shined against the Jaguars. He had two sacks AND three tackles for loss. He could roll with the 36 year old Cam Jordan in the rotation, while Chase Young and Carl Granderson are starters.
Kicking is impressive
Each team in this game shined in the kicking game. The Jags kicker Cam Little unleashed a 54 yard field goal. He finished with 3 for 3 on field goals. As for the Saints, they have a battle going on. Tanner Brown converted a 49 yard field goal and had another successful field goal. Charlie Smyth was their kicker last season. In the Jags game, he missed a FG attempt. Nonetheless, he was quite dangerous for the Saints last season.
Carter Bradley is all over the map
We would expect the starting QB for each team to be efficient and consistent. Spencer Rattler was accurate for the Saints. Well, the Jags QB Carter Bradley wasn’t exactly efficient. He was 10 for 17, 1 touchdown and 1 interception, and he took three sacks, as well. He finished with a rating of 71.9.
Down to the wire
This game was a highly intense game of football. The Saints had the ball with one second left on the two yard line. Hunter Dekkers did a fake hand-off and then threw it to the corner of the end-zone to Jalen Moreno-Cropper. Sadly, the dome didn’t get what it wished for. Game over.
The Saints started out hot in this showdown. It will be pivotal that they can come out with their hair on fire with Tyler Shough in future pre-season action.
