Is it wise to draft Ty Simpson in dynasty
By: Jake Rajala
I am thrilled to say I drafted Ty Simpson in the third round of my dynasty draft. Of course, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams with their 13th overall pick. It’s safe to say that they have high expectations for him. Rams fans should be hoping he doesn’t replace 2026 MVP Matthew Stafford. However, he could very well be their future QB1. With that said, I’m going to lay out the pros and cons of drafting Simpson in dynasty.
Pro: Puka Nacua
Puka Nacua is arguably the best WR in football. He had 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns a season ago. He had a PFF grade of 96.3. This was the highest PFF grade among WRs. Puka will face a suspension soon, but he still has a very bright future after it.
Con: Davante Adams
The former Packers star Davante Adams led the league in touchdowns last season. He could make impressive sideline catches and go up and “moss” defenders. The problem with Tae is that he’s 33 years old. I can’t imagine that he plays more than two seasons. Hopefully, the Rams properly replace him.
Pro: sit and learn
It helps a QB to sit and learn. Just ask Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady if sitting for a season helped them. They can master the playbook and add more muscle. It can be hard to re-gain confidence if a rookie is thrown in the fire and asked to shine right away.
Con: Sean McVay
How could Sean McVay be a con? Well, there has been speculation that McVay could retire soon. If Matthew Stafford retires and Aaron Donald retires for the second time, I woudn’t be surprised if McVay calls it a career. If McVay leaves, Simpson could be in trouble.
