Will the Jets add a young QB?

By: Jake Rajala

The New York football Jets are surprising and playing lights out. They are clearly the better team in the Big Apple. Their leader is none other than Geno Smith. I honestly felt he was a bridge QB that will lead them to a Top-5 pick. Well, it appears he may be their long-term QB! I know that sounds crazy. Matter of fact, Phillip Rivers came out of retirement at 43 years old, so age is just a number. Obviously, Tom Brady retired at the age of 45. Yes, you read that correctly.

Smith also isn’t playing in an offense that has the dream team supporting cast. Outside of Garrett Wilson, there isn’t a lot of help. I’m not saying they need to bring back Keyshawn Johnson back to their offense. However, they could use more ammunition, especially if they want to go blow for blow with the Buffalo Bills, who are the AFC favorite in my opinion.

So, the pivotal question is: Should the Jets look to bring in a new, young QB at the end of the season? Obviously, it’s early in the season. I don’t believe the Jets should draft a QB in round one. I’d like to see the Jets reel in QB in round two or round three. A QB like Tyler Shough or Shedeur Sanders would be a slam-dunk pick for the Jets.

I would prefer to see the Jets draft a WR in round one. They have Breece Hall, Wilson, Kenyon Sadiq, and Smith. Let’s see more weapons in the Jets offense.

Another option for the Jets could be to trade for a young QB, versus drafting one. Spencer Rattler, Davis Mills, Tua Tagovailoa, and Justin Fields are names that comes to mind.
