Best replacements for Dan Quinn
By: Jake Rajala
It would be an understatement to say Dan Quinn has been atrocious this season. Sure, Jayden Daniels has been hurt. Well, let’s not forget that Quinn went 2-5 with Daniels the season prior. With that said, the Commanders are looking like the worst team. We’re talking about them looking worse than the NY Giants! With that said, I’m going to lay out potential replacements for Quinn.
Eric Bieniemy
It’s time for Eric Bieniemy to get a HC gig. He’s the mastermind behind Patrick Mahoms turning his career around. Furthermore, his RB Kenneth Walker, could very well win Offensive Player of the Year. Eric has also helped Travis Kelce continue to play at a high level, despite his age (37).
Bill Belichick
If Bill Belichick wants to return to the NFL, here’s his chance. Daniels may be injury-prone and inconsistent, but he still has a high ceiling. Terry McLaurin is a Top-10 WR. The Commanders defense is in a rebuilding phase, however. The Commanders should finish with a Top-5 pick in 2027. BB could draft the best player available.
Mike Tomlin
It’s hard to not like Mike Tomlin’s role on Sunday Night Football. Nonetheless, he could still win another Super Bowl in his career. He may need to bleed for a season or two. After that, he should have a competitive team. We witnessed Sean Payton step away for a time and then return to the NFL. Perhaps Tomlin can follow that path.
Sean McDermott
Sean McDermott is another elite head coach who is currently not in the league right now. Sean McDermott has only one losing season in his career. Yes, you read that correctly. He has three 13+ win seasons. Sure, he’s not a QB guru, but he knows how to build a championship-caliber roster.
Kliff Kingsbury
I love the football mind of Kliff Kingsbury. Many QBs in college and the NFL find a lot of success under him. So, where is he now? Well, it just happens that he’s working with the most creative HC, Sean McVay! I’d love to see him come out of the wilderness and find a new home as an HC.
