Cowboys at Packers: outlook
By: Jake Rajala
It’s the frozen tundra. The Dallas Cowboys are heading to Green Bay to take on the Packers. It’s on Sunday Night, as well. With that said, I’m going to take a fun angle and unfold five bold predictions about the game.
George Pickens gets over 150 yards
George Pickens is arguably the best WR2 in the game. He’s coming off a contest where he registered 130 yards. He had 13 targets! Ceedee Lamb is a full-go after his thigh bruise. I still don’t love his chemistry with Dak after having two catches last week.
Rashan Gary has 2 or more sacks
It’s home coming for Rashan Gary. Yes, he was once a cheese head. He has had 15 pressures this season. I believe he will step it up a notch and get home a couple of times. Gary will want to prove he’s not a poor man’s version of Micah Parsons.
Lukas Van Ness forces two fumbles
Lukas Van Ness will prove that the Packers have a legit defense. He’s their leader right now. We saw Nate Landman force a couple of fumbles last Monday Night. In other words, it’s perfectly possible to get two turnovers. He could have a strip sack and then a punch out.
Jordan Love throws 3 or more touchdowns
I’m not overly fond of Jordan Love’s ability. I don’t believe he’s a Top-15 QB. However, he still has some arm talent and he’s playing against a Cowboys defense that’s given up 27.6 PPG allowed. I believe the Packers will have a fast start at home and they won’t look back. Ultimately, I believe Love will unleash three or more touchdowns.
Jonnu Smith scores a touchdown
Jonnu Smith will have golden match-ups this weekend as a TE2. Tucker Kraft will hog the attention from the defense. Smith has the frame and ability to high-point the football in tough circumstances. Smith was once a maniac. I believe he will come to life and score a touchdown this upcoming weekend.
The Packers and Cowboys have a rich background. These two teams don’t look like NFC powerhouses, but they still have a lot of talent. With that said, I hope it’s a gutsy, close showdown.
