Is Saleh on the hot seat?
By: Jake Rajala
Robert Saleh hasn’t exactly had an impressive record as an head coach. He struggled with the New York Jets, where he went 20-36. Yes, you read that correctly. He wasn’t able to incorporate an passing game, or a defense that was on the same par as his defenses in San Francisco. In 2026, he has one of the worst teams again! The Titans have one win this season and their QB situation is a mess. Cam Ward looks like a bust after two seasons in the league.
This raises the question: Is Saleh on the hot seat? Absolutely. We’ve seen too many head coaches fired after one season. Furthermore, it makes sense for the Titans to try and lure in an offensive mind as an HC, to work with Ward. Jim Harbaugh has struggled mightily this season, but he still has an impressive track record wit building stout rosters.
So, another question looms: What record could get Saleh fired? I’d have to imagine that three or fewer wins would make Saleh’s seat really heating it up. I would give him another chance after a two or three win season. If he struggles in the first half of next season, then I’d say he deserves to be axed. We witnessed him get fired after a 2-3 record to start the season.
A fasincating question ponders over Saleh: What is the biggest move that Saleh can make to not get fired? I’d like to see the Titans bring in a veteran QB to try and fix things. We witnessed the Raiders bring in Kirk Cousins and the Raiders have stayed competitive.
The Titans have Carnell Tate and Wan’Dale Robinson at WR. It isn’t like they lack firepower. Their defense also ranks 13th in PPG allowed, which is respectable. Ward needs to look in the mirror and realize that it rests on his shoulders and that he needs to make plays.
