Most impressive wins last week
By: Jake Rajala
Week 6 in the NFL was filled with unique outcomes. We’ve seen every type of win occur. With that said, I’m going to lay out the most impressive wins from Week 6.
Denver Broncos vs Seattle Seahawks
The Denver Broncos offense was horrid and they still defeated the reigning Super Bowl Champs. The Broncos won by a score of 17-14 in overtime. Sam Darnold looked like the QB we saw with the Jets. He threw a couple of interceptions and failed to stage a win in OT. Bo Nix did his best to throw away the game. This came after Sean Payton took over play-calling.
Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams
This was the biggest upset of the weekend. Nobody expected the Cardinals to take down the LA Rams. If you told me Jacoby Brissett threw 218 yards and an interception and the Cardinals won, I wouldn’t believe you. I was happy to see Aaron Donald shake off more rust and have a beautiful tackle for loss.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Aaron Rodgers is leaving everything on the field. A-Rod threw two touchdowns and 253 yards. He was sacked five times, however. That simply can’t happen at the age of 42. I loved the post-game moment between Rodgers and Jalon Daniels, where he gave him a hug and celebrated his effort.
San Francisco 49ers vs Washington Commanders
The San Francisco 49ers were up 23-3 and the Commanders scored two second half touchdowns. Jayden Daniels was locked in and looking like the QB that led his team to an NFC Championship. The Commanders nearly converted on 4th down, but Treylon Burks dropped it. They also had a touchdown called back for a facemask penalty. Sadly, Terry McLaurin injured his leg and will miss the rest of the season.
New Orleans Saints at New York Giants
Every Saints fan was breathing with a bag in this showdown. The Saints were down 10 points and then they were ahead by 17 points. J.J. McCarthy entered and played like Tom Brady. The GMEN were marching down the field with hardly any time left. It was 4th and 1 and the Giants failed to convert. Every Saints fan expected the Giants to score and have a successful two point conversion.
