Bills at Vikings
By: Jake Rajala
The secret is out: the (6-1) Buffalo Bills square off against the (6-1) Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. It is bound to be a dandy. Given the anticipation for this showdown, I’m going to unfold five bold predictions for the contest.
Aaron Jones has 150+ total yards and a touchdown
Aaron Jones isn’t washed up quite yet. In three of his last five games, he’s recorded at least 100+ total yards. Furthermore, he has a couple of touchdowns on the season. I believe he will put it all together in a bloody, high-scoring showdown.
Andrew Van Ginkel has 2+ sacks
Andrew Van Ginkel has been one of the best pass rushers around the entire league this season. He has 6.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Believe it or not, he was a fifth round pick. I believe Allen, who likes to run around the pocket, will meet Ginkel a couple of times at least.
DJ Moore has three 20+ yard gains
We have all witnessed DJ Moore stretch the field this season. That’s his second best in his career. Well, he has averaged 16.3 YPC. I believe he will eclipse that on a few grabs. Josh Allen needs to find Moore on a few shot plays. I believe Allen will find Moore on a play-action or pass deep down the middle in the 2-minute drill.
Carson Wentz and Josh Allen combine for 7 touchdowns
I believe there will be a lot of fireworks, despite Kyler Murray on the bench. I believe Josh Allen will likely throw four touchdowns and Wentz will unleash three touchdowns. Wentz has underrated speed. I believe he can run it in for a touchdown in the red-zone. He can also unleash havoc on 3rd downs to Justin Jefferson. As for Allen, he simply has the most rushing touchdowns (9) by a QB this season.
James Cook has a pair of receiving touchdowns
I believe the Vikings defense will focus on stopping Allen, that they will get burned by James Cook. I believe Cook will find success on a screen or short pass to the flat. James Cook has proven to be superior to his brother, Dalvin. In the end, I believe Allen will have success rushing and passing.
