Can Kellen Moore Cure the Saints?

Will Kellen Moore fix the Saints?

There is a young, mysterious , and elite offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles. This figure created an offense that Top-6 in points scored in three of four seasons for the Dallas Cowboys! This included an offense that was second in points scored. His name is none other than Kellen Moore.

Moore fled the Boys to compete for a Lombardi trophy with a team in the same division, otherwise known as the Philadelphia Eagles. In the city of brotherly love, Moore has moved mountains with his offense, as they’re already competing for a Super Bowl trophy.

With this said, the OC in Moore is keeping the door open to be an HC. The New Orleans Saints flew out to Philly on Monday to meet with the offensive genius.

There is no secret: many coaches didn’t want to join the Saints this off-season. So, why should a 36 year old leave a golden situation as a coordinator to take a leap of faith as a HC with a broken situation?

Moore really needs to buy in on the age of the team and QB situation on the Saints. They have quite old players on their defense, such as Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis, and the Honey Badger. He will want a plan to replace a 2/3 of these faces this off-season in my opinion.

The Saints will likely ride out into 2025 with Carr as the QB. He played “modest” in his time as a Saint thus far and he is being paid a plethora of money. We can expect growth from Carr with a healthy WR group, as “Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed” missed a combined 20 contests.

It’s unfortunate that Klint Kubiak left to the Seattle Seahawks recently.

The Saints were 24th in points and 21st in yards scored last season. It’s unacceptable that they aren’t a Top-10 offense next season with their talent. Even if Carr gets traded, the Saints still have Chris Olave, Alvin Kamara,Taliese Fuaga, Rashid Shaheed, and Taysom Hill. They were ninth in 2023 in points scored, so it’s absolutely feasible to have a Top-10 offense again.

Just as we witnessed Sean Payton bring a lot of his former players to the Denver Broncos, we could foresee Moore bring in Eagles players – such as right tackle Lane Johnson. Trevor Penning is an average OT, but Johnson can take their offense and run game to another level.
