Where Could Cousins Play Next?
By: Jake Rajala
There has been speculation that Kirk Cousins gets traded, given his lack of production last season meshed with Michael Penix Jr. on the roster. With that said, I will untwine potential trade destinations for Cousins.
Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns arguably have the worst QB situation in the league. I really believe they need a QB more than anybody. Kenny Pickett has 15 touchdowns to 14 ints in 25 games. He isn’t exactly daunting. Of course, Deshaun Watson may miss a huge chunk of 2025, plus he has been a bottom shelf QB as of late.
Tennessee Titans
Will Levis didn’t play well last season, simple enough. He is a project player, to be fair. I’d love to see Cousins shipped to the Titans. There are weapons for Cousins to make plays with, such as Calvin Ridley and Treylon Burks. I’d love to see a three way QB battle between Cousins, Levis, and likely Cam Ward.
New England Patriots
I believe that Drake Maye could benefit from sitting for 1-2 seasons. Drake Maye had a PFF grade of 70.1 last season. Cousins already has chemistry with Stefon Diggs. The Pats can’t afford to struggle in competitive AFC East division, as they were swept by the middle-of-the-pack Dolphins team a season ago.
Pittsburgh Steelers
If the Steelers can’t acquire A-Rod, I believe they should fall back on Cousins. Kirk is light years ahead of Mason Rudolph, who threw 9 TDs to 9 ints last season. Kirk is a better pocket QB than Russell Wilson, so he could make more magic happen with the Steelers toys.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints are the ultimate wildcard to land Cousins in my opinion. They have been rumored to draft a QB in the first-round. Perhaps they want to ship out Carr for Cousins, as Cousins has a better resume. Plus, the Saints could still draft a QB with Cousins.
Honorable Mention:
Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence has been on a bit of a roller coaster. I’d love to see a veteran help him out and push for the starting gig. There isn’t a QB breathing down Lawrence’s neck. T-Lawrence had a PFF grade of 76.8 last season – which pegged him as the 21st QB.
