Where will Dobbins play?

J.K. Dobbins is undoubtedly one of the best free agents on the market. Not only is he available, but he’s peaking right now at 26 years old. Hence, it would make a lot of sense for a team to sign him. So, I’m going to untwine the best landing spots for Dobbins.

Los Angeles Chargers

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”

Dobbins is coming off a stellar 2024 campaign – where he unveiled 905 rushing yards, nine touchdowns, and averaged 4.6 YPC. Najee Harris is capable of being a true RB1, but I’d like to see more talent behind him. Dobbins is a flat out upgrade over the RB2 Kimani Vidal.

Kansas City Chiefs

There has been a revolving door at RB for Kansas City. Enough is enough. The Chiefs need to bring in a quality bell-cow ball-carrier to aid Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs were also 26th in rushing yards last season.

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincy is terrible when it comes to running the football. They ranked 30th in rushing yards last season. They need more balance, despite them having one of the best WR duos in the league. They can’t win in a shootout each week.

New York Jets

Breece Hall can’t quite get over the hump. Their rushing attack left A-Rod out to dry last season. I’d love to see a rushing attack that can break down the Buffalo Bills defense. Justin Fields could really benefit from more dynamite at RB – as he seeks to start for an entire season.

Minnesota Vikings

Minny doesn’t have an answer at RB, after Aaron Jones. It’s especially pivotal they have more talent at RB to upset the Detroit Lions. I’d love to see thunder and lightning between Jones and Dobbins. The play-action game would help Justin Jefferson.

Honorable Mention:

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have a shiny QB in their back-pocket in Geno Smith, but they need a true workhorse at RB. Raheem Mostert can take it the distance, but he’s not a 30 carries a game type of back. I’d love to see Dobbins join Smith and Brock Bowers on offense.
