AFC South QB Rankings Right Now

AFC South QB Rankings

By: Jake Rajala

The AFC South is home to many unique quarterbacks. It may seem obvious that there isn’t an old QB in this group. Trevor Lawrence is the oldest QB at 25 years old. With that said, I’m simply going to rank the QBs in the AFC South. Let’s begin.

4. Anthony Richardson

Anthony Richardson gives me Tim Tebow vibes. He has a horrid completion percentage. He can make some magic with his arm and when the pocket breaks down, however. He threw 8 touchdowns to 12 interceptions last season. Somehow he had a 6-5 record last season. I’d still like to see how he can pan out with a full season!

3. Cam Ward

Cam Ward simply has more arm talent than Richardson, so I’m going to slot him ahead. He is the second first overall pick in this group. Ward’s NFL comparison is none other than Big Ben. It was deemed a no brainer that he would be the first QB taken. If he can win OROY and win the division title, he will rank as the first QB on this list.

2. Trevor Lawrence

Trevor Lawrence has been all over the map. He went 9-8 and then 8-8. Well, he took a nosedive last season and went 2-8! He has 69 touchdowns to 46 interceptions. He can be an example to Richardson that struggling early doesn’t mean you will have a putrid career. T-Lawrence threw for 17 ints as a rookie. He then threw 25 TDs to 8 ints as a sophomore.

1. CJ Stroud

CJ Stroud had a terrible wonderlic score, but that didn’t hold him back from lighting up defenses on the field. Stroud has a 19-13 record after two seasons. He also has 43 touchdowns to 17 ints. PFF slabbed an 78.9 PFF grade on him. He has Nico Collins, but I’d like to see more talent at WR2 and WR3. Stroud went 5-1 against his division foes last season.
