Best RBs in the NFC West
By: Jake Rajala
The NFC West is loaded with running back talent. Hence, it can be challenging to rank them. Well, I will put my best foot forward and rank the best RBs in the NFC West.
Kenneth Walker
Kenneth Walker accumulated 1,215 total yards as a rookie. His latest season was quite impressive. He recorded 872 total yards, but he did it in 11 games! The Hawks offense should be balanced – as they still have Cooper Kupp and Jaxson Smith-Njigba. This means opponents can’t load up the box.
James Conner
James Conner is a quality RB, yet he’s the third RB ranked. This goes to show the talent and depth of RBs in the NFC West. Conner ran angry for 1,094 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, and he averaged 4.6 YPC. PFF slabbed a 90.4 PFF grade! Conner isn’t quite as versatile as Kyren Williams and Christian McCaffrey.
Kyren Williams
Kyren Williams was one of the biggest surprises in 2023. He notched 1,350 total yards and earned second-team All-Pro honors. The scary part is that he did it in 11 games. He averaged a league-high 95.3 rushing yards per game. He was quite successful last season, as he unleashed 1,299 rushing yards and 12 TDs.
Christian McCaffrey
Let’s not be mistaken: Christian McCaffrey isn’t only the best NFC West RB, but he’s one of the best RBs in the league. CMAC has struggled with injuries (as he only played in four games last season), but that won’t hold him back. All he did was win Offensive Player of The Year by unleashing 1,459 rushing yards and 339 receiving yards in 2023.
The RBs in the NFC West are quite dazzling. They arguably have more talent than any other divisional group of RBs elsewhere. It’s a fine combination of youth and experience, as well.
