Ranking the RBs in the AFC West

Best RBs in the AFC West

By: Jake Rajala

The AFC West is filled with prominent, young running backs. In a few years, they could be showcasing four Pro Bowl RBs in a few seasons. There is also a few different styles of RBs in this group. With that said, I’m going to rank the best AFC West RBs.

1. Ashton Jeanty

Ashton Jeanty hasn’t played a snap at the professional level. I am still showing my superb confidence in his abiliy to peg him as the first RB on this list. He was picked sixth by the Las Vegas Raiders for a good reason! He ran for 2,601 rushing yards and 29 rushing TDs. Brock Bowers has already raved about his ability. This would help explain why he was second in the Heisman voting.

2. Najee Harris

Najee Harris is the only RB with over 1k rushing yards on this list. He failed to average over 4 yards per carry early in his career. He was similar to Mark Ingram, as they both had growing pains early on. Harris has ran for four consecutive 1k yard seasons. Harris is still 27, which means he has gas left in the tank.

3. RJ Harvey

Sean Payton strikes again. RJ Harvey will be a succesful QB in Denver. He can be similar to what Pierre Thomas was in New Orleans. They are elusive, change in pace ball-carriers. Although, RJ will likely not be a superb blocking back at 5’8.

4. Isiah Pacheco

Don’t throw in the towel on Isiah just yet. He only played in several games last season. Let’s not forget. In his sophomore season, however, he unveiled 1,179 total yards and 9 total touchdowns. He may have not been a high draft pick, but he can put on a show when gets the ball in space.

The AFC West doesn’t only have quality QB play, but the talent from the RBs are off the charts. I’d love to see each RB dominate, partially due to my roster in dynasty. Plus, I’m a Sean Payton fan, so it would be a blessing to see Harvey shine.
