Joe Flacco trade destinations

Flacco trade spots

By: Jake Rajala

The Cleveland Browns have four quarterbacks with starting potential. They will have to get creative in moving on from 1 or 2 QBs. I believe there’s a realistic chance that Joe Flacco is the odd man out. After all, Flacco is 40! With that said, I’m going to untwine the best landing spots for him.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints need a veteran QB more than any team. Even if Flacco doesn’t start on the Saints, he could show the young guns how to go about their day as an NFL QB. It’s still worth noting that Flacco went 4-1 in 2023! He has some juice left. Perhaps Flacco can win the QB competition and win Comeback Player of The Year. He has the weapons to light up the Dome.

Pittsburgh Steelers

This one is an obvious choice. The Steelers will end up in Death Valley with Mason Rudolph (as he went 1-3 last season). The Steelers need a sharp, game manager to lead them. They have a running game and defense that can make plays. All they need is an Alex Smith-like figure to lead them to the playoff gauntlet.

Indianapolis Colts

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”

The Colts clearly shined with Flacco at the helm. Flacco also has chemistry and support in the Colts locker room. I don’t trust Anthony Richardson, who unleashed a 47.7 completion percentage and 8 passing TDs to 12 ints. He has Tim Tebow vibes. Daniel Jones is a quality QB2, as he has never run away with the starting offense.

New England Patriots

The news is out: Drake Maye has struggled this summer thus far. He threw four ints in one OTA session. With that said, there has been some improvement! Maye somehow made the Pro Bowl last season. He won’t make it again with pedestrian stats. Flacco can replace Maye if he struggles for the second season.

Tennesse Titans

The Titans may have drafted Cam Ward first overall. However, that doesn’t mean he will pan out, especially in his first season. Former first overall picks, Caleb Williams and Bryce Young struggled in their first seasons. If Ward struggles, then Flacco can simply replace him.

Flacco is one of the most underrated QBs in the league. He defies age and seeks the ultimate prize: the Lombardi trophy. He could really shine with a team that has a stingy defense and superb weapons on offense. I believe the best fit for him is the New Orleans Saints. Flacco has a rocket arm and the Saints have three gifted deep-threats (with Rashid Sheed, Chris Olave, and Brandin Cooks).
