Who will win the Giants QB battle?
By: Jake Rajala
The New York Giants have three quarterbacks that could all start on Day 1. It will be a very intense QB battle between the three. The question is: who is going to start? Well, I’m going to unfold the situation.
Russell Wilson
I expect Russell Wilson to start for the GMEN. Wilson started over Justin Fields for most of last season. Wilson can call the right signals for the OL. He can also break the pocket and make quality throws deep on the run. Wilson isn’t a Top-15 QB, but he is a veteran and former Super Bowl Champion. PFF gave him a 77.5 grade last season, which pegged him as the 20th best QB.
Jaxson Dart
I believe that Jaxson Dart is the future QB, but I believe it will take more than one season for him to start. Jordan Love sat for three years behind Aaron Rodgers. I could see a similar situation unfolding with Dart. Wilson should have 2-3 more seasons of modest QB play.
Jameis Winston
Assuming Wilson and Dart are the top two QBs, I’d like to see Jameis Winston traded. It would be perfect if he was traded to the New Orleans Saints. He is a fan favorite and he was actually playing well with the Saints before Derek Carr arrived. Winston could also be a fine fit in a New York Jets uniform. He is too good to be a QB3 in the end.
The Giants have one of the most intense QB battles around the league. They have an old QB, a rookie QB, and a QB between the two ages. Each QB has a unique skill set and journey. I expect Wilson and Dart to be the top two QBs. If Wilson or Dart gets injured, they should be thankful to have a quality back-up, to say the least.
