QB-RB tandems in NFC
By: Jake Rajala
The NFC arguably has more potent QB-RB tandems than the AFC. There are a few RBs that are capable of winning Offensive Player of The Year. With that said, I’m going to list the best QB-RB tandems in the NFC.
1. Brock Purdy-Christian McCaffrey
CMAC has won OPOY. He just needs to stay healthy. He only played in three games in 2020, seven games in 2021, and four games last season. On the field, he’s one of the best all-around backs. He recorded 2,023 all-purpose yards and 21 total touchdowns in 2023. Everybody knows that Brock Purdy brought his team to the Super Bowl as a rookie. I believe he will still shine without Deebo.
2. Jared Goff-Jahmyr Gibbs
Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs are both dark horse MVP candidates. All Goff did last season was throw 37 touchdowns (fourth in league) and 4,629 passing yards (second in the league). Gibbs ran for 1,412 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns! He also averaged 5.6 YPC!
3. Jalen Hurts-Saquon Barkley
I’m not head over heels for Jalen Hurts. I would say he’s a B. Of course, I believe that Saquon is a Top-3 RB in the league, nonetheless. I have to say that their tush push breaks the spirit of foes. There isn’t anything like it.
4. Jordan Love-Josh Jacobs
Josh Jacobs was a Top-10 RB in Las Vegas. He hasn’t lost a step in Green Bay. He ran for 1,329 rushing yards and 15 rushing TDs last season (see his PFF grades below). Jordan Love threw 32 TDs in 2023 and then 25 TDs last season. Hopefully, Matthew Golden helps him become a Pro Bowler.
5. Jayden Daniels-Brian Robinson Jr.
Jayden Daniels is my number 1 rated QB in the NFC. He went on a rampage in the playoffs. He especially shined against the Detroit Lions by leading his team to drop 45 points on them! Brian Robinson isn’t a Top-10 RB, but he can be a 1k yard RB. He had 799 yards and 8 TDs. He likely would have eclipsed 1k yards and 10 rushing TDs if he didn’t miss three games.
