Heinicke trade spots

Taylor Heinicke was once seen as a future starter in this league. He nearly beat Tom Brady in the playoffs, and then he led Washington to a 5-3-1 record in 2022. Well, he lost his spark, and he’s looking to shine as a QB1 again. With that said, I’m going to list some spots where he could start.
Cleveland Browns
There is time. The Browns don’t have to invest in everything in Joe Flacco or Kenny Pickett. Heinicke can still come to CLE and make magic happen. He is just as versatile as Deshaun Watson, so Kevin Stefanski can open up the playbook for him.
No, I don’t believe that Shedeur Sanders will start.
Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young had 10 total touchdowns in his last three games. That doesn’t guarantee that he will be a Pro Bowler next season. He was benched early in last season. If he can’t properly utilize new faces like Tetairoa McMillan and Hunter Renfrow, or stay healthy (as he’s quite small), Heinicke could step in.
Tennessee Titans
Will Levis is out of the picture. A lot of pressure is on Cam Ward right away. Brandon Allen isn’t a quality QB2. He had a 34.4 QBR (with 1 TD and 2 ints) last season. If Ward struggles or gets injured, they shouldn’t have to throw in the towel. With Allen, they are giving up. Instead, I’d love to see Heinicke get the keys to the offense.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints have two mobile, young QBs in Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough. Heinicke could fit in well with the scheme. Shough also had three season-ending injuries in college! Shough is far from a safe QB. Heinicke also has been to the playoffs, so he knows the pace at that level.
Indianapolis Colts
Anthony Richardson is similar to Tim Tebow. He can make splash plays, but he’s not a consistent thrower. Daniel Jones has been a disaster for most of his career. Regardless, there is an open battle to determine the starting QB. I would put my cards in the pool that believes Heinicke could start.
