Will Shedeur Sanders start?

Is it time for Shedeur Sanders to start?

By: Jake Rajala

The son of Deion Sanders, Shedeur Sanders, had a phenomenal game in Week 1. He threw two touchdown passes and had a scramble play that eluded a couple of Panthers defenders. His efforts drew rave reviews from Lebron James himself (as shown below).

With that said, the question remains: should Shedeur Sanders start?

I believe there is a lot of football left, but he is the front-runner. Obviously, he was given the chance to shine as QB1, because he is the favorite “right now” to start. Kevin Stefanski wanted to see how he would perform with Browns starters against the starters on defense!

I don’t believe it’s quite right time to dub Shedeur as the starting QB. Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco have been around the block. They could certainly shine with a few drives.

The question for Sanders is: how consistent will he be? Will he throw an interception in the red-zone, or will he take a silly intentional grounding on a 2-minuted drive?

Furthermore, will Sanders follow in the foot-steps of Johnny Manziel and disappoint Lebron?

I do feel that Shedeur has risen the playing field. Fellow rookie QB Dillon Gabriel will most certainly have to shine if he wants to pass Sanders on the QB depth chart.

The biggest difference between Sanders and the other QBs is that Sanders can evade pass rushers in his face. If the play breaks down, he can escape!

If Sanders is the starting QB when it’s all said and done, they can trade away Flacco or Pickett. They won’t trade away a rookie, regardless of their production in year one.

Truthfully, I’d love to see Sanders start. If he earns the keys to the offense as a rookie, the Browns could have a bright future.
