Travis Kelce vs George Kittle
By: Jake Rajala
The NFL features many gifted tight ends. Two of the best tight ends are Travis Kelce and George Kittle. Of course, Kelce hails from Kansas City and Kittle comes from San Francisco. The ultimate question is: who is the better TE?
Kelce has
- 12,151 career receiving yards
- 77 career touchdowns
- 1,004 receptions
He has earned
- Four first-team All-Pro nods
- 10 Pro Bowls
Kelce has played 12 seasons in his career.
Here is a close look at Kittle’s production:
- 7,380 career receiving yards
- 45 career touchdowns
- 538 grabs
He has achieved
- Six Pro Bowls
- Two-time first-team All-Pro
Kittle has played in eight seasons thus far.
Kelce has been a pillar of consistency. He has made the Pro Bowl in nearly every season. He has been a reliable target for Mahomes, especially with Tyreek Hill in Miami. Kittle doesn’t have the best speed, but he can get open. He reminds me of Jason Witten.
Kittle doesn’t only have superb quickness and catching ability, but he can absolutely maul defensive ends and linebackers. He has been ranked as the best player in the league by PFF.
I believe the difference between Kittle and Kelce is the fact that Kelce has three Super Bowl rings! Similar to Gronk, Kelce has been a machine in the playoffs.
I don’t believe there is time for Kittle to catch Kelce. Kelce has been fantastic late in his career. Plus, I highly doubt Kittle will bring home three Super Bowl rings.
I foresee each TE getting a gold jacket and being cast into the football Hall of Fame in the end. They should also be cast into their ring of honor.
In my opinion, Kelce has an opportunity to go down as the best TE of all time. If he plays a few more seasons, he could get a few more All-Pro nods and another Super Bowl ring!
