Who will win MVP?

The former first-round pick Bo Nix had a special rookie campaign. He unleashed 29 passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns. I’m going to lay out a few reasons Nix could take the next step and win MVP.
- Sean Payton
Nix doesn’t have to make dazzling throws on the run. Sean Payton is an offensive wiz, and he will create plays where the first option is open. He will also make plays where Nix can be a threat with his legs. Let’s face it: Payton is an elite play-caller. Jameis Winston went 5-2 under him, and Teddy Bridgewater went 5-0 under him! Payton is a disciple under Bill Parcells.
- Division
I believe it can be a good thing that the Broncos play in the AFC West, which is arguably the NFL’s best division. Their wins are much more sweet when they come out with the victories in their division. I would say they would garner a lot more respect if they beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. If it wasn’t for a blocked field goal, which rarely happens, the Broncos would have beaten the Chiefs last season.
- Opportunistic defense
The Broncos ranked 10th in takeaways last season. They know how to give the ball back to their offense. Furthermore, they ranked 1st in sacks. Vance Joseph is cooking some unique, aggressive looks. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got a head coaching gig elsewhere.
On the flip-side, I am a tad worried that Nix doesn’t have enough firepower. They witnessed Jerry Jeudy play like a Pro Bowler for a different team (Browns) last season. Marvin Mims hasn’t played like a WR2 thus far. The free agency pool is getting thinner by the day. The Chargers took Keenan Allen back. Perhaps OBJ is intrigued by the possibility of playing for Sean Payton.
Payton has said that he believes that Nix will be an elite QB. He’s on the doorstep right now. All that matters is if Payton feels comfortable with his progression right now. If he’s a little bit better than last season, he should have a special year. Hence, I’m very excited to see him play, especially against Mahomes.
